BIDDING BATTLE: Geoffrey Kondogbia is
 a wanted man (PA)
ARSENAL ARE FACING a fight to land Frenchman
Geoffrey Kondogbia from Sevilla since Monaco have
 become interested in the midfielder.
The Gunners are reportedly keen on acquiring the
20-year-old France international who can play in a
 defensive role.
It is understood that Monaco have tested Sevilla’s
resolve to keep the player with a £13m bid.
Reports in France even suggest that the deal has
 already been done in principle.
The Premier League club’s manager
Arsene Wenger has spoken out against those pressurising him to
spend as the transfer window draws to a close.
During the opening day 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa,
Gunners fans called for their club to buy more players – to date
Wenger has not spent any money in the transfer market,
having only secured one player on a free.
Sevilla still maintain that Kondogbia is not for sale – also,
it is reported that he has a buy-out clause of £17m.
